Recently, the newly developed production line for 10-12mm laparoscopic trocars, independently researched and manufactured by Xiamen Synrit Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., has passed factory acceptance and stability joint debugging, and been officially delivered to the production base of our cooperative medical enterprise. Tailored for the most widely used 10-12mm trocars in clinical practice, this automated assembly line addresses the assembly characteristics and mass production pain points of large-caliber medical devices. It enables high-precision, high-efficiency and high-consistency automated production, helping medical enterprises break through the key bottlenecks in large-scale manufacturing of large-size trocars.

 

Customized Automated Solutions to Solve Mass Production Pain Points of 10-12mm Trocars

As one of the most commonly used specifications in laparoscopic surgery, 10-12mm laparoscopic trocars feature complex structures, extremely high assembly precision requirements for sealing rings and strict air leakage prevention standards. Traditional manual assembly faces three major challenges:
 

  1. Large-caliber parts are hard to align manually, easily causing eccentricity and poor sealing, which leads to a high defective rate of air leakage.
  2. The assembly process involves numerous components including cannulas, valves, sealing rings, silicone gaskets, spacers and insufflation valves. Cumbersome procedures result in low efficiency, failing to meet the demand of medium and large batch orders.
  3. Quality control relies heavily on workers’ experience, causing inconsistent product quality between batches and a lack of standardized production data traceability.

Leveraging years of experience in automated equipment for medical consumables, Synrit’s R&D team developed an integrated fully automatic assembly line for 10-12mm trocars. The whole process including material feeding, positioning & pressing, air tightness testing and finished product sorting operates unattended, fundamentally eliminating assembly errors and low efficiency caused by manual work.

  1. Stable Productivity: Stable output reaches over 3,500 units per 8-hour shift, more than 2.5 times the capacity of manual assembly, well matching medium and large order delivery schedules.
  2. High-precision Assembly: Positioning accuracy of key pressing stations is controlled within ±0.02mm. Custom tooling for large-caliber sealing rings and cannulas effectively prevents eccentric assembly and ensures consistent sealing performance.
  3. Full-process Quality Control: Equipped with multiple inline testing stations for air tightness, pressing force monitoring and component integrity inspection. Defective products are automatically rejected, keeping the finished product defect rate below 0.5%.
  4. Flexible Compatibility: Modular design supports production of mainstream 10mm and 12mm trocars on one single line. Quick model changeover adapts to multi-specification production demands.
  5. Reliable Operation: Adopts well-known brand core components including HIWIN and Omron, paired with Synrit’s self-developed motion control system. The equipment can run continuously for over 72 hours without failure, suitable for high-intensity mass production.
